THE BRIEF

More than a promotional film.

Hive Kids booked The Camera Guys to photograph and film one of its children's summer workshop camps. The organisation needed material for its marketing and website, with several different stories to tell.

Alongside activity coverage, the brief included interview and testimonial clips with children and instructors, plus staff headshots. Bringing professional photography and corporate video production into the same booking gave each of those needs a place in the shoot.

Our attendance was one full day. The finished photographs and multiple videos were the wider production deliverables, with editing separate from the shoot itself.

ACTIVITY COVERAGE

See the camp in action.

We covered the children taking part in workshops through both still photography and moving images. Group activity, close details and interactions with instructors offer different ways to show what happens at the camp.

A photograph can hold a moment on a website page; video lets an activity unfold. The selection here brings those views together, from shared projects to individual concentration.

VOICES FROM THE DAY

Hear from the people taking part.

The children's interview clips bring their own perspectives into the project. Instructor interviews add the voices of the people leading the activities.

These conversations sit alongside the activity films as distinct examples of the work. They give the client spoken material as well as images, with participants and staff each contributing to the wider picture of camp life.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE ACTIVITIES

The booking also included individual staff headshots. These portraits gave Hive Kids images to introduce its team alongside the activity photography and finished videos.

For organisations updating their own team pages, staff headshot photography can be included in a broader content brief.

The project brought together activity films and photographs, participant and instructor interviews, and staff portraits. Each answered part of the original marketing and website brief.

Our accompanying article, More Than a Promotional Film: Our Hive Kids Summer Camp Shoot, looks at the planning lessons for organisations combining photography, video and interviews.
