Can you edit footage filmed by someone else?
Yes. We can review footage from you, your guests or another videographer. You will need access to the original files and permission to have them edited. Tell us what is available so we can check suitability before agreeing the work.
Can you mix phone videos, camera footage and photographs?
Yes, subject to reviewing the files. We plan the edit around differences in picture quality, orientation and sound. Vertical clips may need borders or a different layout within a landscape film; we agree the main viewing format with you.
Can you improve shaky footage or unclear sound?
We can assess colour, stabilisation and audio cleanup as part of the edit. What is possible depends on the recording. We cannot promise to recover missing moments, clipped sound or detail that was never captured.
How do we send our footage?
Start with a description of your files, the approximate amount of footage and any viewing link you already have. Once the scope is agreed, we will arrange a suitable way to transfer the original digital files. Keep your own backup.
Can we choose the music?
Tell us the mood you have in mind and any music that matters to you. We will discuss suitable music and licensing for how the film will be used and shared. A commercial song is not automatically cleared for inclusion.
How long does the edit take?
The schedule depends on the amount and condition of the footage, the finished film and current availability. Tell us about any anniversary, event or gift deadline at the start. We agree the estimate, deliverables and timetable before editing begins.
Can you work from old tapes?
This page covers editing from digital files. If your memories are on VHS, camcorder tapes or film, tell us the format before sending anything so the transfer requirements can be discussed first.
Can you film our wedding too?
For new wedding filming, photography and wedding packages, we recommend Stolen Hearts. The Camera Guys editing service on this page is for footage you already have. Explore Stolen Hearts.
