MORE THAN BUILDINGS AND CLASSROOMS

THERE’S MORE TO YOUR SCHOOL
THAN THE PROSPECTUS.

The atmosphere in a lesson. The enthusiasm of a teacher. Students explaining what they enjoy, in their own words.

These are the details that help someone understand a school—not just what it offers, but what it feels like to be there.

We bring those details together in films that introduce your school with clarity and character. Facilities and subjects have their place, but so do the people, relationships and everyday moments that make the experience yours.

Whether you are preparing for an open evening, promoting your sixth form or refreshing your website, we help you decide what the film needs to communicate—and how to show it.

EXPLORE OUR EDUCATION PROJECTS

REAL PROJECTS. DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES.

IN THE CLASSROOM.
ON THE COURT.
BEYOND THE SCHOOL DAY.

Our work includes sixth-form promotion, junior sports videos and children’s activity content. Each project needs its own approach, shaped around the setting, the people taking part and the audience watching.

SIXTH-FORM PROMOTIONAL FILM · ESSEX

KES commissioned a promotional film ahead of enrolment to introduce prospective students and families to its sixth form.

Across a full filming day, we captured a range of subjects, facilities and student activity, bringing the material together in a concise, cinematic edit.

The brief was to show the breadth of the sixth-form experience without producing a conventional school video: a focused film with movement, variety and a clear sense of the place.

JUNIOR SPORTS PROMOTIONAL VIDEOS

Our work for Essex Sport includes promotional videos for its junior sports activities.

These films provide a different reference point for education-related content: introducing opportunities beyond the classroom and showing families what an activity involves.

For schools, clubs and activity providers, that same approach can help explain a programme through the experience itself, rather than relying on a written description.

CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES · PHOTOGRAPHY + VIDEO

Hive Kids booked a photographer and videographer to cover a day at one of its summer workshop camps.

Alongside the activities, we captured interviews and testimonials with children and instructors, as well as staff headshots for the website.

The production brought together moving images, individual voices and photography to support the organisation’s marketing and website content—a practical example of planning more than one type of output around the same day.

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHOW?

THE RIGHT FILM
FOR YOUR NEXT CHAPTER.

A whole-school introduction, a sixth-form campaign and a film about a particular department do different jobs.

We help you choose the approach that fits your audience, rather than trying to squeeze every message into one video.

School promotional films

Introduce the whole experience.

Bring together your school’s people, learning environment, facilities and wider opportunities in one film. Give prospective families an introduction they can watch before visiting, revisit afterwards and share with others involved in the decision.

Sixth-form and college films

Help students picture their next step.

Show the subjects, spaces and student experience that make your sixth form or college distinctive. Build the film around what prospective students need to understand, with contributions from the people already studying and teaching there.

Student and staff interviews

Let your community do the talking.

Student experiences, teacher insights and leadership introductions can give a film a personal perspective. We help contributors feel comfortable and guide the conversation, creating interviews that can stand alone or become part of a wider promotional film.

Campus and facilities films

Show the spaces—and what happens in them.

Introduce classrooms, specialist facilities, sports areas and shared spaces through a carefully planned filmed tour. Wherever practical, show those spaces in use, giving viewers a sense of their purpose rather than simply moving from room to room.

Sports, clubs and enrichment

Show what happens beyond lessons.

Create focused films about sport, creative activities, clubs, workshops and holiday programmes. These can sit alongside your main school film or introduce a particular opportunity to pupils, parents and prospective participants.

Open days and school events

Capture the occasion. Plan what comes afterwards.

Film an open evening, celebration, sports day or other school event, with coverage built around the moments you want to preserve or share. Highlights, interviews and longer recordings can be planned separately so each has the coverage it needs.

GOOD FILMS START WITH A CONSIDERED APPROACH

A REAL SCHOOL DAY.
NOT A FILM SET TAKEOVER.

Your timetable, teaching and pupils come first.

Before the shoot, we work through the practical details with your nominated contact: which lessons or activities to cover, where interviews can happen, who needs to be available and how to move between locations efficiently.

A little preparation makes a substantial difference. It helps us capture useful variety without repeatedly interrupting the same class or asking staff to organise everything while the cameras are already running.

Natural voices. No need to perform.

Most students and staff are not professional presenters—and they do not need to be.

We can work with simple talking points and conversational questions rather than expecting everyone to memorise a script. Clear guidance, a comfortable setting and time to settle in help people speak in their own words.

Your filming requirements, agreed beforehand.

Before the visit, we will agree the relevant permissions, supervision arrangements and filming restrictions with your school or organisation.

That includes identifying anyone who must not appear and understanding where and how the finished content will be used. These arrangements belong in the production plan, not as an afterthought on filming day.

PLAN THE OUTPUTS BEFORE THE CAMERAS ARRIVE

ONE WELL-PLANNED SHOOT.
MORE WAYS TO TELL YOUR STORY.

Your main promotional film might be the priority, but it does not have to be the only useful result.

With the right schedule and coverage, the same production can also provide shorter interview edits, subject-specific clips, vertical videos and website footage. Each version is planned around its purpose, rather than treated as an afterthought.

Refresh the photographs, too.

A new film often highlights another need: updated photographs to sit alongside it.

We can plan staff headshots, activity photographs, facilities imagery and other agreed marketing images as part of the same production. Where photography and video need to happen simultaneously, we allow for dedicated operators so neither is compromised.

The Hive Kids project is a useful example: activity coverage, interviews and staff photography, planned together around one booking.

You choose the content you need. We set out the filming, photography and editing required before the project begins.

FROM THE FIRST CONVERSATION TO THE FINISHED FILM

A CLEAR PLAN.
A CONSIDERED PRODUCTION.

  1. Sixth-form students discussing classroom work01

    Understand the purpose

We start with your audience, message and deadline. Are you introducing the whole school, supporting sixth-form admissions, promoting an activity or updating your website? Together, we identify the content that will be most useful.

  2. The King Edmund School entrance02

    Plan around your school

We agree the locations, contributors, filming arrangements and schedule. Lessons, interviews and activities are coordinated around the access available, with enough time for setup and movement between different parts of the site.

  3. A KES student contributing to the sixth-form film03

    Capture the experience

We film the people, places and activity that support your brief. Interviews receive the attention they need, while supporting footage gives the finished film context, movement and a sense of everyday life.

  4. A frame from the completed KES sixth-form film04

    Edit, review and deliver

We shape the footage into the agreed films, with colour, sound and any planned titles or captions. You review the edit before we prepare the final versions for your website, presentations and other agreed channels.

Clear priorities before filming. Useful content afterwards.

A CLEAR STARTING POINT

TELL US ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL

BEFORE FILMING DAY

SCHOOL VIDEO QUESTIONS,
ANSWERED.

How much filming time will we need?

That depends on the number of locations, activities and interviews, as well as the films you want afterwards. A focused brief may fit into one well-planned day; a broader project may need several visits. We work through the schedule before recommending the coverage.

Can you film during a normal school day?

Yes, where this suits your school’s arrangements. Filming during lessons and activities can help show the real experience, but we agree access, permissions and timings beforehand. Interviews and more involved setups can be scheduled separately to limit disruption.

Do we need to write a script?

No. You can start with the messages you want to communicate and the audiences you want to reach. We can help develop talking points, interview questions and a filming plan. More detailed scripting or creative development can be included where the project needs it.

Can you interview pupils, students and staff?

Yes, with suitable arrangements agreed in advance. We keep the process approachable and can use conversational questions rather than asking everyone to deliver rehearsed lines. Interviews can contribute to the main film or be edited into separate pieces.

How are permissions and safeguarding arrangements handled?

We agree the filming requirements with your nominated school or organisation contact before the shoot. This includes participant permissions, supervision, any restrictions on who or what may be filmed, and the intended uses of the finished content. All of our team members hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS check. Please raise any specific safeguarding requirements during planning.

Can you provide photography at the same time?

Yes. We can include staff headshots, activity coverage, facilities photographs and other agreed images. If photography and filming need to happen at the same time, we plan the crew accordingly rather than expecting one person to cover two simultaneous moments.

Can we have vertical videos and captions?

Yes. Short vertical edits, captioned versions and other formats can be included in the brief. Discussing these before filming helps us capture suitable compositions and material. We agree the number and type of versions as part of the editing scope.

Can you deliver before our open evening or admissions deadline?

Tell us the deadline at the start. We will confirm a realistic schedule that allows for filming, editing, your review and final delivery. Availability and the complexity of the project determine what is possible, so earlier planning gives us more flexibility.

Can we have the raw footage or request additional edits later?

Both can be discussed. Raw-footage handover is quoted separately rather than included automatically. Additional edits depend on the material captured and the agreed storage arrangements, so it is helpful to discuss likely future uses when planning the original shoot.

YOUR SCHOOL. YOUR PEOPLE. YOUR STORY.

LET’S SHOW THEM
WHAT MAKES YOUR SCHOOL DIFFERENT.

Planning a promotional film, a sixth-form campaign or new content for your school website?

Tell us about your school, who you want to reach and when you need the finished content. We will help you work out what to film, how to organise the day and which deliverables make sense for your budget.

A finished brief is not necessary. Your school or organisation name, location, approximate deadline and a few thoughts about the project are enough to get the conversation started.
