THE ORGANISATION

EMPOWERING CARE LEADERS. IMPROVING CARE EXPERIENCES.

My Home Life England works to improve quality of life for people wherever they are supported. Based at City St George's, University of London, it combines professional development, research and community engagement to help care leaders build confidence, strengthen relationships and create more sustainable care systems.

Its programmes are evidence-based and practice-informed. Managers, deputies, team leaders and senior carers are supported to reflect on their leadership, learn with peers and apply relationship-centred approaches in their own services.

That impact is real but not always easy to communicate through reports alone. My Home Life England needed a production partner who could capture the learning in the room, the confidence of participants and the wider value of the work—without disrupting the safe, conversational atmosphere that helps the programme succeed.

WHY VIDEO

MAKE YEARS OF IMPACT VISIBLE.

My Home Life England wanted a local video production company able to work across Essex and London, understand a sensitive people-led brief and turn several live dates into content for different audiences.

The films needed to support public marketing, demonstrate the value of the programmes to current and prospective partners, and provide credible evidence for university and funding conversations. They also needed to preserve participant voices in a form that reports and statistics cannot: care leaders explaining what changed in their own practice, confidence and relationships.

As a Suffolk-based production company regularly filming across Essex, London and the wider UK, The Camera Guys could keep the crew deliberately compact while scaling the equipment and coverage to each date. That continuity also helped the three shoots feel like one body of work rather than unrelated commissions.

CHELMSFORD · TWO PROGRAMME DAYS

CAPTURE THE LEARNING WITHOUT CHANGING THE ROOM.

We filmed two separate My Home Life England professional support and development programme days at The County Hotel in Chelmsford, Essex. Each date involved a different group of care leaders, but the production goal was consistent: record the programme in action and let participants describe its value in their own words.

The working sessions relied on honest discussion, practical exercises and peer reflection. Our coverage therefore stayed observational. We filmed group conversations, facilitation, written exercises and informal interaction as B-roll, working around the participants rather than turning the day into a staged performance.

Alongside that footage, we recorded a structured series of interviews. Participants were asked what they had learned, what had changed, how the programme had benefited them and whether they would recommend it to others. Those answers became standalone pieces for reporting and internal use, while selected moments also formed the narrative spine of each promotional film.

TESTIMONIAL PRODUCTION

ONE INTERVIEW. THREE DISTINCT USES.

Every participant interview was framed to work independently. Answers included enough context to be understood without hearing the question, giving My Home Life England complete testimonial films it could submit as evidence of activity and impact.

The same material was then edited more selectively into the individual Chelmsford highlight films. Finally, the strongest contributions from both cohorts could be combined with London footage in the overall My Home Life England promotional film.

Planning those uses before the interview made the shoot much more efficient. A relaxed conversation produced long-form evidence, concise marketing soundbites and a coherent voice for the main film without asking contributors to repeat the entire process for each deliverable.

LONDON · 20TH ANNIVERSARY

A CONFERENCE, A CELEBRATION AND A COMPLETE ARCHIVE.

On 8 July 2026, My Home Life England marked two decades of work with a two-part event at City St George's, University of London. Guests from adult social care, health, research, commissioning and community organisations came together to reflect on the movement's history, discuss the future role of care providers and celebrate the people behind the work.

The daytime conference explored how care services could become stronger partners within wider health and social care systems. It was followed by a drinks reception, anniversary speeches and conversations between guests from across the sector. My Home Life England's own account of the day records more than 100 people attending across the two parts of the celebration; read its 20th-anniversary event story.

The production used one experienced camera operator across video and photography, with a multi-camera setup for the formal conference content. That approach kept the crew footprint proportionate while allowing the complete event to be recorded, speakers to be covered from more than one angle and a full stills gallery to be created around the live schedule.

FULL EVENT EDIT

A BODY OF WORK BUILT ACROSS THREE DATES.

The overall promotional film connects programme learning in Chelmsford with the organisation's wider story and 20th-anniversary gathering in London. The supporting edits preserve each date as a useful piece in its own right.

THE RESULT

FOUR EDITS WERE ONLY THE BEGINNING.

A REUSABLE LIBRARY

MARKETING, EVIDENCE, FUNDING AND ARCHIVE

My Home Life England gained public-facing films, standalone participant testimony, a complete multi-camera event recording, industry soundbites, an event photo library and a substantial bank of B-roll. Each asset could work independently; together they demonstrated the scale, consistency and human impact of the organisation's work.

A CONSTRUCTIVE PROCESS

FEEDBACK THAT REFINED THE MESSAGE

With several programmes, audiences and stakeholders represented, review was necessarily detailed. Constructive feedback from the My Home Life England team helped refine emphasis, terminology and the balance between participant experience, organisational purpose and sector impact until the final films communicated the right message.
