THE BRIEF
Give a specialist event a life beyond the room.
The Camera Guys worked with Adam White and Davies White Landscape Architects, with the wider Anglian Water client team involved, to film a landscape and environment workshop at Beth Chatto Gardens.
The event brought presentations, group discussion and a visit to Chattowood into one day. Davies White’s account of the workshop explains its focus on climate-resilient gardens and landscapes for new housing.
Our brief was to turn that depth of material into an engaging, useful collection of films. The production combined event videography in Colchester with interviews and substantial post-production, giving the client both a concise overview and more detailed speaker and participant content.

THE DELIVERABLES
One workshop. Several ways into the story.
One videographer covered the project over six hours. The finished package served different viewing needs, from a quick social introduction to a fuller account of the guest speakers.
- Multi-camera speaker content: fully edited workshop presentations and individual speaker edits.
- Main promotional film: a highlights piece bringing the day’s central ideas and atmosphere together.
- 30-second teaser: a short promotional edit for social media.
- 10 participant interview clips: attendees sharing their experiences of the workshop.
Speaker names and lower-thirds, title cards, colour grading and audio cleanup carried the films through to finished delivery. The full promotional film embedded below runs for 3 minutes 44 seconds.

THE COVERAGE
Follow the discussion from room to landscape.
Presentations supplied the specialist thinking; conversations and participant interviews gave it a more personal perspective. Supporting footage connected those voices to the gardens, the workshop activity and the visit to Chattowood.
Inside, the coverage takes in speakers, listening faces, notes and collaborative work around the tables. Outside, planting details and wider views give viewers a sense of the environments being discussed.
That combination helps a landscape and environment film communicate both the subject matter and the experience of taking part.

THE EDIT
Build a clear narrative from many voices.
The post-production involved more than arranging the day in chronological order. We restructured the material into a concise story, tightening presentations and removing pauses and filler while keeping the speakers’ meaning intact.
One speaker’s recording needed substantial dialogue restoration because the original microphone coverage was inadequate. Audio cleanup helped make that contribution usable alongside the rest of the material.
Natural ambience and birdsong gave the edit a sense of place. A custom music remix and edit shaped the soundtrack around the film’s structure, with colour grading, speaker identification and title cards bringing the series together. This is the detailed finishing work behind our corporate video production.

THE RESPONSE
A finished series the team could share.
The films were delivered through Google Drive, bringing the promotional pieces, workshop speaker content and participant clips together for the client.
Following delivery, Adam told us that the team at Anglian Water loved the films. That feedback reflected the value of shaping a specialist event into content that could be watched and shared after the workshop had finished.
For organisers planning a similar brief, our guide to planning workshop highlights, speaker edits and participant interviews explains how those deliverables affect the filming schedule and edit.
