The people
Portraits for the roles you need to introduce: leadership, staff profiles, speakers or an individual specialist. We agree backgrounds and framing so the set works together.

PHOTOGRAPHY / ESSEX
Give your website, campaigns and communications photographs worth using. From our Great Horkesley base near Colchester, we plan Essex photography around the people, products and moments your audience needs to see.
THE BRIEF COMES FIRST
You have a new page to launch, a speaker to introduce or a campaign to refresh. Somewhere in the shared drive is a photograph that almost works: the wrong crop, an old product, or a person who has since left. A planned photography commission starts with those gaps.
Bring us the layouts and the uses, then we can decide what belongs in the collection. A clear staff portrait, an image of work happening and a product photograph each answer a different question. They should earn their place in the brief.
GIVE EACH IMAGE A JOB

Portraits for the roles you need to introduce: leadership, staff profiles, speakers or an individual specialist. We agree backgrounds and framing so the set works together.

Products need clear labels, considered reflections and enough detail to understand the finish. Campaign photographs can bring in colour and atmosphere once the essentials are covered.

A launch, performance or company gathering has a schedule of its own. Identify the key people and moments before the event so coverage has a clear purpose.

ESSEX PHOTOGRAPHY / MERCURY THEATRE
For Polkadot Pantomimes at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester, we photographed The Wizard of Oz across two performances without flash. The stills range from an ensemble on stage to tighter character combinations.
A theatre commission has particular constraints, but the planning lesson applies to other live events: agree access, know what must be captured and work in a way that respects the people taking part. These are commissioned photographs, with the location and production identified.

Colchester performance photographs sit alongside clearly labelled examples of our wider portrait and product work. The latter show photographic approaches, rather than implying an Essex location.
BETTER PREPARATION / BETTER COVERAGE
Before we book the shoot, turn “we need new photos” into a short, useful production brief.
Show us the web banner, brochure spread or profile tile. A wide header with words over it needs breathing room; a staff directory needs a deliberate portrait crop. We can plan both while the person or product is in place.
Separate launch-day requirements from useful extras. If time runs short, the important people, new products and core pages should already be covered. Agree who can sign off priorities on the day.
Colour, exposure, crop and detailed retouching are different requirements. Flag sensitive product colours, background clean-up or multiple export versions early so the quote reflects the work.
CLEAR COSTS
£249 first hour per photographer
£99 for each additional capture hour. Additional retouching is £49 per hour where required.
The capture rate is a starting point. We confirm the number of photographers, preparation, agreed image finishing and any additional retouching in your quote. Delivery dates, image quantities and usage are agreed for your commission.
No VAT is currently added to our prices.

Our Great Horkesley base is close to Colchester. We also work from Great Cornard, near Sudbury, and take photography bookings across Essex. Send the actual shoot address, whether it is in Chelmsford, Braintree, Witham or elsewhere; access and travel depend on the venue, not just the county name.
Within 25 driving miles of the quoted base, travel is £0.55 per round-trip mile. Beyond that, mileage is waived and estimated round-trip driving time is charged at £49 per hour. Parking, tolls and other necessary travel costs are agreed separately.
BEFORE THE BOOKING
Send the shoot address, preferred date, people or products involved and the channels where you will use the photographs. Existing page layouts and a short list of missing images help us estimate coverage and finishing.
The Wizard of Oz photographs were commissioned by Polkadot Pantomimes at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester. Hive Kids portraits and Jellyshotz product images are shown as representative commissioned work; we do not claim an Essex shoot location for those photographs.
Yes. Tell us the intended placements and any space needed for text before the shoot. We can compose suitable portrait and landscape options; additional crops and export versions should be included in the agreed delivery scope.
We agree the background, lighting approach and framing before the session, then schedule contributors through that setup. If new starters need adding later, a reference image and the original brief help us plan a compatible session.
Yes, when the schedule and equipment allow time for each setup. Product quantity, size, surfaces, packaging and any detailed retouching affect the work, so send a product list or reference photographs when enquiring.
We establish the selection process, intended uses and delivery requirements with you before the booking. Tell us about third-party publication, paid campaigns or other specific usage needs so they can be addressed in the quote.
YOUR NEXT PHOTOGRAPHY BRIEF
Send the address, date and the photographs you need. A few examples of where the images will appear will help us shape the right coverage.
