PHOTOGRAPHS WITH A PURPOSE

The display is built. What needs to be remembered?

An event stand or launch installation can take days to prepare and disappear in an afternoon. Photographs should record what was actually delivered: the product on display, the presentation of the brand and the people engaging with it. Those are different requirements from simply collecting a busy-looking crowd.

For a Hertfordshire activation or launch, we agree which images belong to the brand's campaign and which are needed for the organiser's record. That distinction helps decide when to photograph a clean setup, when to stay with the live activity and which details must remain legible.

JELLYSHOTZ / PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

Start with the product's visual identity.

Our Jellyshotz commission included colourful product photography as well as a programme of festival photography and films. The product images shown here use real packs, props and lighting, with AI-assisted scenery displayed behind the set. They establish a visual approach without pretending to show an event audience.

For your launch, agree which packaging, colours and combinations are current. A close product image and a wide stand photograph should describe the same offer. Keeping an approved reference set helps avoid photographing an old label or a display that is still being assembled.

HERTFORDSHIRE / DOCUMENTED PROJECT EXPERIENCE

Dedicated photography at St Albans.

The published Jellyshotz case study records Foodies Festival coverage in St Albans, with a dedicated photographer and videographer at each Foodies event covered. The photography brief included the festival unit, products and people enjoying the brand.

That is documented Hertfordshire experience. The styled product photographs on this page come from the separate product commission; their locations have not been relabelled as St Albans. The case study brings the wider programme together.

Three windows in an activation brief.

01

Before the visitors

Photograph the finished display while the important surfaces are clear. Ask the organiser to confirm that stock, signage and presentation are ready before this part of the session.

02

During the experience

Follow the interaction you are there to explain: a demonstration, a conversation or a participant using the offer. Agree who can be photographed and how the organiser will identify exclusions.

03

Before the team packs down

Check any essential details still outstanding: the full team, a partner display or the product arrangement. A short agreed checklist is more useful here than discovering a missing picture after the stand has gone.

An image can show an experience. It cannot prove a sales result.

A lively photograph is useful campaign material, but it does not establish attendance totals, satisfaction or commercial return. If your stakeholder report needs those figures, keep the measured results separate and choose photographs that accurately illustrate the activity described.

We can agree a delivery divided into product views, display details and live moments. Add the planned formats and intended users to the brief, especially where a brand, agency and event organiser each need access to different parts of the collection.

AGREE THE RESPONSIBILITIES

One brief across brand, agency and venue.

Who approves the product?

Nominate the contact who knows the current packaging, presentation and brand rules. Share visual references before the shoot rather than asking for a new treatment after delivery.

Who controls the event space?

Confirm access with the organiser, including arrival, equipment storage and any restricted demonstration areas. Brand approval alone does not grant access to a venue.

Who can publish the images?

State the intended organisations, channels and uses in the quote. Permission to appear in an event record should not be silently treated as approval for every future advertising campaign.

HERTFORDSHIRE / ON LOCATION

The quotation sets out photography time, preparation, image finishing, agreed usage and delivery. Product-set photography and live activation coverage may require separate sessions. Any return visit or extra operator is scoped explicitly.

We travel across Hertfordshire from Great Cornard near Sudbury. Send the actual event address, build-completion time and visitor opening time. Multiple entrances or separate setup and live-coverage windows can affect the booking more than the town name alone.

Within 25 driving miles of the quoted base, travel is £0.55 per round-trip mile. Beyond that, mileage is waived and estimated round-trip driving time is charged at £49 per hour. Parking, tolls and other necessary travel costs are agreed separately.

PLANNING YOUR SHOOT

The practical details.

Have you photographed a brand event in Hertfordshire?

Our Jellyshotz case study documents Foodies Festival coverage in St Albans, with dedicated photography and video. The displayed product photographs were made separately and are not presented as pictures of that event.

Can we combine product photographs with event coverage?

Yes, but the setups need to be planned. Controlled product photography may be better in a separate session, while the live event needs coverage at fixed times. We agree whether the venue and schedule can support both.

Can you photograph the stand before it gets busy?

Include a confirmed setup-completion time and an access window before visitors enter. The organiser should have the display, stock and signage ready so that this time is spent photographing the finished presentation.

What should an activation shot list contain?

The finished display, key product views, agreed interactions and named team or partner photographs. Prioritise the images that explain the activation and identify which moments only happen at a particular time.

Can our agency and partners use the same photographs?

List the intended users and uses when requesting the quote. Delivery access and usage arrangements should be clear for the brand, agency and partners rather than inferred from who attended the event.

Are the product backgrounds on this page real locations?

They are styled product-set images. The Jellyshotz work used real products, props and lighting with AI-assisted scenery displayed on a screen behind them. The captions distinguish this from live event photography.

YOUR HERTFORDSHIRE PHOTOGRAPHY BRIEF

What must the brand come away with?

Share the Hertfordshire event or launch address, the key product and the photographs your team needs afterwards. We can turn that into a practical coverage brief.
