THE BRIEF
TURN A REAL LOVE STORY INTO A MUSIC VIDEO.
King of the World was the second music video we created with Jake Aldridge. The concept followed his relationship with Lisa from the messages exchanged before their first date, through the dates and moments that brought them closer, to the proposal and the home they would share.
This was filmed before their wedding, so the story deliberately finishes at the front door rather than the aisle. We later returned to film their Norfolk wedding at The Norfolk Mead, giving the two films a lovely real-world connection.
The challenge was not a lack of ideas; it was fitting that many chapters into one coherent shoot.
THE PRODUCTION
PLANNED BEFORE
THE CAMERA ROLLED.
Story development
Building a complete visual narrative from Jake and Lisa’s relationship.
Pre-production
Coordinating locations, scenes, wardrobe and timing into one shoot plan.
Videography
One videographer capturing narrative action, detail and artist-led moments.
Post-production
Shaping a day of footage into one continuous, easy-to-follow love story.

THE PRODUCTION CHALLENGE
ONE DAY TO CAPTURE THE WHOLE STORY.
The finished film moves through messages, dates, activities, a proposal and a first home. Each chapter needed the right action, costumes and visual cues, while travel and setup still had to fit within the filming day.
We worked closely with Jake to develop the narrative, themes, sets and locations into a schedule coordinated effectively down to the hour. Scenes were grouped around real logistics rather than shot in the order seen in the edit.
That preparation is what made the scale possible. A tightly planned music video production can create the impression of a much longer journey from a single day in front of the camera.
THE STORY IN FRAMES
A RELATIONSHIP
PROGRESSING THROUGH TIME.
All 57 supplied project frames are used across this page. Read together, they show why the changing locations and carefully planned chronology mattered.
BEFORE THE FIRST DATE
MESSAGES BECOME A MEETING.
The story begins before Jake and Lisa meet: two separate lives, messages on their phones and the connection that starts to form between them.

THE FIRST DATE
A DAY AT SOUTHWOLD MAIZE MAZE.
Golf, the zip line, giant jumping pillows, the maze and go-karting gave the first date a playful pace—and gave the film a wide range of environments without leaving the main destination.

THE RELATIONSHIP
TIME MOVES. THE STORY GROWS.
Messages and new dates carry the relationship forward. The change from restaurant to seaside and then bowling makes the passage of time visible rather than explaining it in dialogue.

THE NEXT DATE
BOWLING, THEN A BIGGER QUESTION.
The bowling sequence keeps the same warmth and playfulness before the film arrives at its emotional turning point: Jake proposing to Lisa.

THE NEXT CHAPTER
A LIFE—AND A HOME—TOGETHER.
Later moments lead to the couple arriving at their first home. The final front-door shot closes the story with a joke, a little privacy and a clear sense that their next chapter has begun.

THE FINISHED FILM
