THE COMMISSION
MAKE A TECHNICAL SOLAR PROJECT MEAN SOMETHING TO THE PEOPLE WATCHING.
Power-Zero commissioned The Camera Guys to visit Denby Pottery for a one-day case-study shoot. The production needed to explain the renewable-energy partnership clearly while showing the real business behind the installation: a historic British manufacturer, its working factory and the people responsible for the project.
We sent one videographer and one photographer, allowing motion and stills to be captured together without forcing the client to organise separate production days. The film centred on direct contributions from Power-Zero and Denby Pottery, supported by footage of the solar array, factory, products and wider site.
The result is a practical example of corporate case-study video production built around evidence rather than generic claims.

THE STORY
FROM ENERGY DATA TO A WORKING POTTERY.
Power-Zero worked with Denby Pottery to understand the site's electricity requirements and develop a long-term solar solution. Power-Zero's published project account describes a 2.1MW ground-mounted array of 3,844 panels, delivered through a 25-year power-purchase agreement.
The contributors also explained the operational value behind those headline figures. Denby can use Power-Zero's portal to see live solar generation and carbon-offset data, helping the team anticipate how much electricity it may need from the grid. The installation also gives a substantial proportion of the site's electricity a predictable price rather than leaving it fully exposed to market fluctuations.
For the film, that information needed visible context. We moved between the array, production floor, retail areas and wider site so the installation remained connected to what it powers. Ceramics moving through machinery, hand-finishing work and the scale of the factory all gave the energy story a human and commercial purpose.
Direct-to-camera contributions from Sophie Lamb of Power-Zero and Dean Barlow, Operations Director at Denby Pottery, gave the film both delivery and customer perspectives.
THE PRODUCTION DAY
VIDEO AND PHOTOGRAPHY WORKING IN PARALLEL.
An industrial case study needs more than an interview and a few exterior cutaways. The day was planned around contributors, factory access, active production areas, the solar site and changing outdoor conditions.
A dedicated videographer could concentrate on clean speech, interview framing and sequences with enough movement for the edit. At the same time, the photographer built a useful stills library without interrupting the filming rhythm. Coordinating the two disciplines meant both sets of assets shared the same visual story.
