A FILM WITH A PURPOSE

Make learning easy to follow.

A good educational video does one job clearly: it explains a skill, shows a process, introduces a place or teaches a topic in the order a learner needs it. We plan the structure with your subject expert first, then film demonstrations, presenters and real activity so the finished video works as well on a learning platform as on a website or a classroom screen.

Most education projects are libraries rather than single films. We plan the shooting pattern, graphics and naming so twenty short videos feel like one course. For prospectus and open-day films, see school video production; for workplace learning, training video production.

BUILT AROUND YOUR BRIEF

From the first idea to the finished film.

E-learning and course content

Presenter-led modules, screen-free demonstrations and short lessons, filmed so they can be split into chapters for Moodle, Teams, a learning management system or YouTube. We can add captions, titles and simple graphics to support the learning points.

Demonstrations and inductions

Step-by-step films for equipment, facilities and safety procedures, like the gym induction video we filmed for Essex Sport at the University of Essex, so every new user sees the same clear instructions.

Lectures, talks and lecture capture

Multi-camera recordings of lectures, guest talks and seminars, with the speaker, slides and audience questions captured for later viewing or streamed live to remote learners.

Schools, colleges and universities

Subject, facility and student-life films for recruitment and enrolment, as with The King Edmund School's Sixth Form film, planned around the timetable and safeguarding rules.

A library, not a one-off

When a project needs many short videos, we use a repeatable shooting pattern and a shared edit style so each video stands alone while the whole set stays consistent.

Your questions,

Practical details about educational & e-learning video production.

What is educational video production?

It is the planning, filming and editing of videos designed to teach: lessons, demonstrations, inductions, course modules and recorded talks. The structure comes from the learning objectives, so the viewer knows what they should be able to do or understand by the end.

Have you made education videos before?

Yes. For Essex Sport at the University of Essex we filmed short films for 20 sports and fitness activities, junior and match-day films and a gym induction video. For The King Edmund School in Essex we filmed a full day for its Sixth Form promotional film.

Can you make videos for our learning platform?

Yes. We can deliver chaptered files, captions and versions sized for Moodle, Microsoft Teams, a learning management system, YouTube or your website. Tell us the platform and any file requirements in the brief.

Who writes the content?

Your subject expert owns the learning content. We help turn it into a filming plan, script or presenter prompts, and your team approves the wording and the final edit.

Can you film in a school with pupils present?

Yes, following the school's safeguarding policy and photo consent. We agree which pupils can appear, filming times and any no-filming areas with staff before the day.

Can you record a lecture or seminar?

Yes, with one or more cameras, clean audio and the slides captured or added in the edit. We can also stream it live; livestreaming starts at £349 for the first on-location hour, then £99 per hour.

How much does an educational video cost?

Filming starts at £249 for the first on-location hour per operator and £99 for each additional hour, and editing is £49 per hour. A library of short videos filmed in one day is usually the most efficient way to work. No VAT is currently added to our prices. See our current production rates.

Where do you work?
