Filming the Hampshire Business Show 2019

In 2019, The Camera Guys were the official videographers for the first Hampshire Business Show. Held at the Ageas Bowl, near Southampton, it brought business owners, exhibitors and speakers together for a day of networking, seminars and presentations.

This is a look back at that first event and our event videography from the day.

A new event for Hampshire businesses

The show was organised by Josh Mitchell and Chris Stones. Visitors could meet businesses at their stands, attend focused seminars and arrange conversations with other attendees through the show's app.

The keynote speakers included Mark Wright, a previous winner of The Apprentice, and business speaker Brad Burton. Alongside the exhibition, the talks gave visitors another reason to come along and spend time at the show.

There was a queue when the doors opened, with business owners and entrepreneurs ready to get started. We also met other local videographers as well as businesses from across the area. It was good to meet people working in our own industry alongside the wider business community.

Filming more than the stage

For us, an event film should give someone who wasn't there a feel for the day. That means looking beyond the speaker line-up to the conversations at the stands, people meeting and the audience's response to what is happening on stage.

Those smaller moments deserve a place alongside the main presentations. They help show what attending an event is actually like, rather than simply who was on the programme.

That is the balance we look for in conference and exhibition filming: covering the scheduled moments without losing sight of the people around them.

Planning a business event of your own?

If you're organising a conference, exhibition or networking event, decide what you need from the filming before the day arrives. A short highlights film and a complete recording of a keynote are different jobs, so they need to be planned accordingly.

We provide corporate video production and event coverage, with the filming planned around your venue, running order and the videos you need afterwards. Our guide to writing a video production brief is a useful starting point for getting those details together.

Send us the date, venue and an outline of your event, along with where you'd like to use the finished video.
