A customer story, a working process, an event or a campaign that needs to feel real.
We’re a video production company for St Albans, filming for businesses, venues, charities and event organisers across the city, Harpenden and the villages around them. We travel across from our Suffolk and Essex bases and plan each day around the address, access, contributors and what the finished film has to do.
We have already worked in St Albans: Jellyshotz booked us for their Foodies Festival season, and the city was one of the stops. The other projects below are labelled with where they were filmed.
Festival coverage in St Albans, a leadership interview filmed in Cambridge and a content bank made at the University of Essex. Each one is labelled with where it was filmed.
ST ALBANS / JELLYSHOTZ
Photographs and films. From the same festival day.
Jellyshotz took their brand on the Foodies Festival circuit, and St Albans was one of the stops. We sent a photographer and a videographer, so the team came home with pictures of the unit, the products and the people trying them, plus highlight films and short social stories.
The film shown here is the Brighton highlights edit from the same festival season.
Henry Dankwa, Opul Life’s CEO and director, explained in one interview who the company is and what it does, and that interview carried the whole film. A St Albans firm, practice or charity can tell its own story the same way.
One videographer worked through 20 sports and fitness activities at the University of Essex, delivering a separate 30–60 second promotional film for each. Clubs, gyms and leisure centres around St Albans can build a content bank the same way.
Choose the purpose first. We can shape the coverage, crew and final formats around your audience, locations and timetable.
01
Event & festival videography
Cover a festival, food event, launch or open day with highlight films and short social edits, as we did for Jellyshotz at the Foodies Festival in St Albans.
Explain what your firm does through clear interviews and footage of your team and workplace, from a city-centre office to a business park on the edge of town.
Show a product, menu or range in short films and matching photographs that keep the brand recognisable on your website, shop listings and social channels.
If you need a St Albans videographer, our team travels from our Suffolk and Essex bases. We cover the city centre, Harpenden, Redbourn, Wheathampstead, Hatfield, London Colney, Park Street and Chiswell Green, with each schedule built around the people and activity at the actual location.
Busy streets, market days and festival sites need timings, access and sound planned; offices and venues need contributors and quiet rooms agreed. We sort these before the filming day.
Professional firms, independent shops, restaurants, venues and charities around the city centre and the station quarter. A small crew suits a working office or a busy street, and we plan around market days, footfall and noise.
Food festivals, fairs, sports days and outdoor events, where the film needs the atmosphere, the people and the brand in one story. We have covered the Foodies Festival in St Albans with a photographer and a videographer.
Smaller towns and villages to the north, with independent businesses, schools, clubs and venues. We confirm the address, parking and any fixed moments before quoting travel.
Business parks, education and sports facilities, and growing communities to the east and south. For briefs elsewhere in the county, see our Hertfordshire page.
Also covering Bricket Wood, How Wood, Colney Heath, Sandridge, Markyate and surrounding villages. Share the address and preferred date so we can confirm travel and availability. Filming elsewhere in the county? See our Hertfordshire video production page, or Harlow video production just over the Essex border.
FROM FIRST IDEA TO FINAL FILE
A clear route. From the start.
01
Start with the purpose
Tell us who the film is for and what it needs to achieve. We turn the idea, event or business need into a focused brief with agreed versions.
02
Plan the location
We agree access, contributors, parking, filming time and anything that must stay out of shot. Busy streets, market days and event sites get a timetable built around them.
03
Capture the right material
We guide interviews and film the activity, details and wider setting, whether that is a meeting room near St Peter's Street, a restaurant kitchen or a festival field.
04
Shape and deliver
Editing brings the footage together with agreed sound, colour and graphics. Two rounds of feedback lead to the final versions for your website, social channels and presentations.
CLEAR RATES. A PROPER SCOPE.
Know the scope. Know the cost.
Build the production around what you actually need.
A single interview and a production across several locations call for different plans. A good St Albans video production company should explain the filming, crew, editing, travel and specialist requirements before you book.
These are our current production rates. We explain how they apply to your brief, including the final versions and review stages included.
Yes. We travel from our bases in Sudbury, Suffolk and Colchester, Essex, and film across St Albans, Harpenden, Redbourn, Wheathampstead, Hatfield, London Colney, Park Street, Chiswell Green and the villages around them. Share the exact address and preferred date so we can confirm travel and availability.
Have you filmed in St Albans before?+
Yes. Jellyshotz booked us for their Foodies Festival season and St Albans was one of the stops, with a photographer and a videographer at the event. The other projects on this page were filmed in Cambridge and Colchester, and each one is labelled with where it was made.
Is this different from your Hertfordshire page?+
Our Hertfordshire page covers the whole county, from Hertford and Stevenage to Watford. This page is about St Albans and the towns and villages immediately around it.
How much does video production in St Albans cost?+
Our current filming rates start at £249 for the first on-location hour per operator and £99 for each additional hour per operator. Editing is £49 per hour. We quote the complete project around crew time, filming, editing, travel and any specialist requirements, and no VAT is currently added to our prices.

How is travel to St Albans charged?+
Travel is calculated from our Sudbury base (CO10 0JA) using driving routes. St Albans is more than 25 driving miles away, so mileage is waived and the estimated round-trip driving time is charged at £49 per hour, rounded to the nearest 15 minutes. Parking and other location costs are agreed separately.
Can you film at a festival or outdoor event?+
Yes. We plan coverage around the running order, the crowd and the weather, and agree who can be filmed and where the crew can work. For Jellyshotz we sent a photographer and a videographer to each Foodies event, so the brand came away with photographs and highlight films from the same day.
Can you make short social videos from the same shoot?+
Yes. We plan vertical and short edits alongside the main film, so one filming day gathers the right material for every channel. For Essex Sport we filmed 20 activities at the University of Essex and delivered a separate short promotional film for each one.
Can you film a conference or seminar and stream it?+
Yes. We can record a conference, AGM or seminar with several cameras and stream it to an online audience at the same time. Livestreaming starts at £349 for the first on-location hour, then £99 per hour, and we confirm the venue's internet connection and audio feed before the day.
Can drone filming be included?+
Sometimes, subject to the exact location and the airspace. Parts of Hertfordshire sit close to airport and other controlled airspace, so we check restrictions and any permissions needed before confirming aerial shots. Drone filming added to a production starts at £199 for the first allocated hour, then £49 per hour.
Can photography be booked alongside the video?+
Yes. We can send a photographer and a videographer to the same event or shoot, so you get stills and films from one booking, as we did at the Foodies Festival in St Albans. Photography uses the same hourly rates as filming.
